In 1953 Herman Marting Opened A Home Building Business In Indiana

It was a few years after the war and demand was high for quality homes. His first home was small by modern standards, but as the company grew, so did the size of the projects. Before retiring to Florida in 1972, the company he formed built hundreds of beautiful homes and developed commercial projects throughout eastern Indiana.

The Next Generation-

Harold, the second generation, moved with his family to Florida in the 1970’s, and is president of  Surfside Construction and Development Corp., a state licensed General Contractor. Projects over the years have included a large variety of commercial & residential construction.  

The Newest Generation-

Tom, the third generation, moved to Atlanta after college in the early 90’s to go into business for himself. In 2003 he sold out to his partner and moved back home to join his father as Vice President of Surfside Construction and Development Corp. He is a State Licensed Contractor in his own right, and has successfully brought the firm into a new era of construction quality and technology with fresh ideas and insight.
