This is a typical Surfside rehabilitation home project. It started out as a run down 1950’s inner city problem, and ended up being a home the owner takes pride in every day.

Below are photos of a typical home project we completed for a local municipality. It sat vacant for a couple of years, and was in sad shape. Our photos take you from day one on the job to the finished product.

BEFORE

This home looked like a money pit if there ever was one! As you can see, someone had attempted to secure the home with plywood shutters. To add insult to injury, the abuse was still going on, with local thugs breaking in nightly to store and split up stolen items. Plywood on the windows just made it easier not to be seen! We hauled over 9000 pounds of debris from inside the home. Everything from car engines to abandon appliances had been stripped of their salable parts and left to rust.

Rats and other pests were everywhere, especially wood eating termites. Very hungry wood eating termites!

Once all the debris was removed, the first step was pest control!

Below is what remained of the kitchen. There were several layers of paneling and wallpaper before we got to the original wallboard.

Above was the bathroom. Or what was left of the bathroom!

This would scare anyone. It’s a view inside the living room about mid point in our project. The waste pipes under the slab were completely rotted away, so we had to cut the concrete to put in new pipe. It’s a mess now, but it will get better!

AFTER

Above is the same room. Hard to believe isn’t it! To the right is the kitchen. Not so bad any more!

These pictures were taken about 45 days apart. This home got a real makeover! We replaced the roof, put in new plumbing, electric, air conditioning, kitchen, baths, and everything in between!
