Single Family Home Remodel
This home is located just steps from the ocean in a community of 1000 identical homes, all built in the mid 1980’s. They are in a great location, but are small homes with only 1889 square feet of living area. Homeowner restrictions allow no exterior modifications, so large additions or tear-downs are not an option.
After thoroughly measuring this home and reviewing the original blueprints, we realized there was adequate space to build another room and even another bath without adding to the original “footprint” of the home. By designing a loft in the living area with an entrance into the new room, we were able to add not only a usable loft, but another bedroom and a bath, turning the home from a conventional 3 bedroom 2 bath home into a 4 bedroom, 3 bath. Since then, we have made this same modification to several homes in the same neighborhood creating bedrooms, home offices, entertainment areas, and work out rooms for the delighted homeowners.

See the door on the loft? That door is the entrance to this owners entertainment room and 3rd bath, both pictured below. It doubles as a fourth bedroom for guests with a pull out sofa. This room came “out of thin air” by using the height of the room that was already available. Most importantly, this revision doesn’t look “added on”. The mark of a great remodel is one that doesn’t look remodeled!

Remodeling professionally requires the imagination to know what you want the finished product to look like and having the knowledge to make it happen. We have been using that type of imaginative thinking for over 50 years.
